Aviyah is Hebrew for "God is my Father." Aviyah began as a worship team in a Messianic Jewish Congregation in Newport News, Virginia. The Rabbi, David Hargis and his wife, Linda, began the group after writing many new songs and desiring these songs to reach a larger audience.
Aviyah's musical team is comprised of David and Linda Hargis, Kaye Wright and Don Doherty. All the group members together have over 30 years of worship leading experience. Besides praise and worship, their musical styles extend from adult contemporary to inspirational. The unique quality of each member's voice combines to form a rich tapestry of harmonies, but the powerful presentation that the group makes is mainly due to their individual devotion and love for the God of Israel.
